Analogue

A molecule that resembles a natural model but is changed on purpose, for example by swapping amino acids or adding a side chain. CJC-1295 is an analogue of GHRH, semaglutide one of GLP-1.

In the lab

An analogue has its own sequence and mass. For checking against the certificate of analysis, the analogue's sequence counts, not that of the natural model.
