Amino acid analysis
A method in which the peptide is fully hydrolysed and the individual amino acids are measured. It gives the peptide content, which HPLC and MS do not.
In the lab
Not every certificate includes an amino acid analysis, because it takes effort. If peptide content is missing, the counterion should at least be named.

- Area percentThe unit of HPLC purity: the main peak's area divided by the area of all peaks.
- ChromatogramThe curve an HPLC run produces: detector signal over time.
- CounterionThe ion that balances the charge of a peptide salt, such as trifluoroacetate or acetate.
